Tamaki Maori Village located on the outskirts of Rotorua provides
Wedding couples with the perfect setting of peace and tranquillity.
Nestled amongst the lush greenery of the native forest and exotic wild life
here on this sacred location the Bride and Groom will be welcomed into
the ancient world of the Polynesian Maori, a world where two breaths of life will be united as one.
At the sounding of the conch shell summoning all of nature to witness this special occasion,
the Traditional Karanga (Welcome Call) is given out by one of the women,
clearing the way for the Bride and Groom to cross the sacred courtyard entering into
the Traditional Maori Village.
From this point on their lives begin to take on a new meaning.
The ceremony is performed within the native forest and the couple
exchange their Wedding vows before the Maori Priest.
He then pronounces a blessing upon the bride & groom and their future together.
To remember this special occasion the Bride and Groom receive a precious Taonga (Gift)
with the Priests blessing upon it, this gift is one that symbolizes Eternal Love and Unity.
Bringing the ceremony to a close, the Bride and Groom then perform the Hongi (Touching Noses)
this practice unites the two breaths of life together as one.
As the newly Weds depart they are fare welled in style with Traditional Maori Song and Dance.
